Business / Retailer - Co-op Connections Program

PROGRAM IS LAUNCHED; HOWEVER STILL ACCEPTING NEW BUSINESSES The Co-op Connections program is a discount/incentive program for electric cooperative members across the United States. National and local businesses are part of this program. Participating businesses benefit from increased customer traffic and from promotions in co-op communications and advertising material. In December 2009, over 24,000 Stearns Electric Association members received the Co-op Connections card-FREE. In addition 190,000 co-op members throughout Minnesota and over 16 million members throughout the United States use the program offered by their local electric cooperative.

What are the benefits of participating in the program?
The Co-op Connections card will be distributed to nearly 25,000 Stearns Electric Association members. This card is intended to increase customer traffic at participating businesses.

What are the costs?
There is no cost to participating businesses besides the discount that each business offers to the customer, which is a small price to pay for the increases customer traffic.

What type of discounts?
Each business can design its own discount. We would like to see a discount that is unique and offers Stearns Electric Association members true value. If you need help designing a discount, Stearns Electric Association would be happy to assist you.

What kind of commitment does a participating business have to make?
For the first year of our program, participating businesses will sign a contract through October 31, 2012. After this initial contract, all businesses will automatically renew from another year each October unless the businesses contacts Stearns Electric Association and ask to discontinue participation.

Participating businesses will have the opportunity each fall to alter their discount. Stearns Electric Association will follow up with each participating business at the end of each year.
