Stearns Electric’s CEO Dave Gruenes Receives National Service Award

Stearns Electric Association’s recently retired CEO, Dave Gruenes, was honored for his nineteen years of faithful service to the Cooperative and its members.
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) CEO Jim Matheson presented Gruenes with the NRECA Regional Award for Outstanding Service on September 18th during the NRECA Regions 5&6 Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.
The award is presented to individuals who have a proven record of promoting cooperative values and working tirelessly to serve members. Gruenes’ leadership at the utility in the areas of demand-side management, economic development and member-empowerment were cited as a few of the many reasons he was bestowed this honor.
Stearns Electric Association is a member-owned electric cooperative. Since 1937, Stearns Electric Association has provided electricity and related products and services to Central Minnesota. Today, Stearns Electric Association serves over 26,000 members in six Central Minnesota counties including Stearns, Todd, Morrison, Kandiyohi, Pope and Douglas.
