Stearns Electric Association is dedicated to providing our member-consumers with outstanding customer service and uncompromising online privacy protection. In order to continuously improve the online experience, Stearns Electric may use technology to obtain non-personal information from online visitors. Such information could include tracking the number of visitors to a specific page, or the total number of visitors to our site.

In addition, Stearns Electric only gathers personally identifiable data, such as names, addresses and e-mail addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by a visitor via an online form. For example, personally identifiable information may be requested by Stearns Electric in order to respond to a request for information about our EnergyWise programs.

It is Stearns Electric’s policy to use personally identifiable information for internal business purposes only. Such information will not be sold to third parties. Please note, we may share this information with our trusted third party vendors in order to provide services to members.

RED FLAGS RULE

Identity theft is a growing problem. An identity thief uses an individual’s personally identifying information to open new accounts or misuse existing accounts, which causes disruptions and complications for both consumers and businesses. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires financial institutions, creditors, and utilities to implement the Red Flags Rule to verify identity.

When you contact Stearns Electric Association for information about your account, you will be asked to verify your identity. The primary account holder may be required to make special arrangements for others, including a spouse, to access account information.
