New Headquarters Update: Construction Makes Notable Progress
September 26, 2024
Work continues on Stearns Electric’s new operations center and headquarters project. Significant progress has been made since we broke ground in May with all precast concrete perimeter panels set earlier this month. A total of 210 precast panels produced by Wells Concrete of Albany were installed in approximately three weeks.
Next is steelwork, enabling roof completion before winter. While much work remains, it’s exciting to see the progress and we hope our members are excited too. At this time, the project is on schedule with an estimated completion for the facility in mid-summer 2025.
The new operations center and headquarters will address the Cooperative’s outgrown, cramped facility and workspaces, and provide efficient workflow and safety. It will reliably serve our membership for the next 50+ years.
SOME FEATURES OF THE NEW FACILITY INCLUDE:
- Enhanced security to keep employees safer and member data even more secure
- Dispatch area for efficient outage response
- Multi-purpose rooms that are versatile for many activities and purposes
- Ability to hold large Cooperative events on-site
- Natural light in workspaces
- Individual and collaborative office workspaces
- Room for future growth
