Greg Blaine Achieves National Credential

Greg Blaine, Stearns Electric Association Board of Director, earned the Board Leadership Certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in April.

The NRECA Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) recognizes individuals who continue their professional development after becoming a Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD). Directors who attain the BLC have completed 10 credits in advanced, issues-oriented courses.

Blaine was elected to the Cooperative’s Board in 2014 to represent District 1, which serves the Minnesota townships of Scandia-Valley, Cushing, Clough, Parker, Darling, Green Prairie, Culdrum, Pike Creek, Swanville, Swan River, Elmdale and Two Rivers.

“Stearns Electric is committed to providing training and education for both our employees and our Board of Directors,” Stearns Electric CEO Matt O’Shea said. “The education that our directors obtain through NRECA’s training and education program provides a solid foundation of knowledge of the energy industry for our directors, and allows them to better serve our members and lead the Cooperative.”

Randall Rothstein Celebrates 20 Years on Cooperative’s Board of Directors

Randall Rothstein of Richmond (Munson Township) recently celebrated 20 years on the Cooperative’s Board of Directors.

Rothstein was elected to the Cooperative’s Board in 2006 to represent District 4, which serves the Minnesota townships of Farming, Zion, Munson, Paynesville, Eden Lake and Luxemburg. In his tenure, he served as Board Secretary/Treasurer from 2007-2012; Board President from 2012-2021; and Board Vice President from 2022-2026.

“On behalf of the entire Stearns Electric Board of Directors and our Cooperative employees, I want to extend a thank you to Randall for his 20 years of service to our Cooperative’s membership,” Stearns Electric CEO Matt O’Shea said. “We appreciate Randall’s Board leadership through several large Cooperative initiatives, and have enjoyed working with him in his tenure to help meet our Cooperative’s mission.”
