I had a great time on this trip. I learned a lot from the trip and will take the experiences I have gained and use them in my day-to-day life.
Touring the Capitol and seeing all the history that it had to offer was amazing. There were so many sights to see that we didn’t get to all of them.
We started the first day off with “Co-ops 101”. They taught us the basics of co-ops, how they work, what they do and the benefits. We went to the Potomac Park, saw the WWII Memorial, WWI Memorial, Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. statue and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Then we went and saw the Arlington Cemetery, one of my favorite experiences I had. Seeing how neat and in order the Government keeps the tombstones was impressive. The most amazing thing was the changing of the guard ceremony. It was incredible how precious and in-sync each of their movements were.
The second day we went and toured the Capitol building and met without senators. Speaking and listening to Amy Klobuchar was amazing. She was really knowledgeable on the subject she was talking about and took the time to answer questions. I was grateful that she took the time to talk to us. Walking around and seeing the rest of the Capitol building was really cool.
The third day we started out with Mount Vernon, the grounds of Washington’s Estate was really cool and fascinating to see. We then went to see the National Cathedral, the church was insane. The construction of it was beautiful and the amazing stained glass windows were astounding.
But my favorite thing we did was the guided segway tour. The segway tour was amazing, it went into the evening and seeing the sun set behind the Washington Monument was a sight to see.
Again thank you some much for this opportunity, I really appreciate everything Stearns Electric provided for me for this trip.
